However, the media landscape is multichannel so we became specialists in Search and Social Media so we could offer our clients a holistic approach to their digital marketing needs. These offerings continue to grow with Digital Out of Home, Digital TV and Audio Streaming the latest additions to our services.

Helping our clients to keep evolving, to challenge the norms, to use and understand the data at their fingertips, thereby empowering them to communicate with their customers in a meaningful and responsible manner. Data is on everybody’s lips these days but collecting data for data sake is meaningless. We find value in analysing our client’s unique data and turn this into action.

Joining forces

In mid 2019 Mark1 joined the Duke Group, an independent group of symbiotic agencies with the ability to offer a full suite of services. These include communication & brand strategy, as well as advertising and creative services Duke Advertising, corporate communications and brand reputation management Positive Dialogue, event management and sponsorship Champ, traditional media strategy, planning & buying Fame, market research and insights Nude and production services Duchess Production.

OUR HOME


Just like Mark1 itself, our building has undergone many changes over the years. The historic Portswood House with its sweeping views of Cape Town’s famous Waterfront was once the harbour master’s house, before becoming the Springbok Rugby Museum. Today it is where Mark1 and our partners DUKE and Positive Dialogue conceptualize and create beautifully realized campaigns for our clients. It is this collaborative, holistic approach that allowed us to win the Ad Focus Medium Sized Agency of the Year in 2020.

As a [B-BBEE Level 1] company we are proud of the diverse individuals that make up our company and believe that our differences are our greatest asset as these fresh perspectives are what ensures that we never fall into the same patterns of thinking.
